Posted by Philothea` @ Thursday, August 31, 2006 | Here's my merry entry of the day:
Yesterday
I received a Teacher's Day gift from my tuition kids. So sweet of them; I really didn't expect it. Anyway it's chocolates and something cute.
Today
FINALLY, I had a hair cut/trim (still pretty much the same but at least it made me feel better. Haha.) at Chapter 2, Bugis! The last time I had a haircut was about 5 months ago, the day before I left India and it was such a traumatising experience! I paid so much for a lousy hair cut at a classy salon in New Delhi. My hair hasn't been growing much either. I've never kept my hair beyond the chest level before so I want it to be really looooooooong this time!
FINALLY, I bought an external hard drive (I was desperately in need of it! My ibook is exploding and obviously, it wasn't gd enough to just keep on burning stuffs out) at a relatively good price. Anyway, since it's the first day of COMEX, it's not as crowded and I can see the booths clearly. Wahaha. Otherwise, my height would usually be a great hindrance amidst the crowd. My last visit to COMEX was also a rather upsetting experience. Silly me had mistaken the venue to be Expo and I only realised it was actually held at Suntec after traveling miles to Expo. Lesson learnt: never presume that COMEX is usually held at Expo! When I made a detour back to Suntec and reached the right venue, I only stayed at the place for barely 10 minutes. It was way too crowded. I had to leave empty handed and so much for traveling here and there for nothing!
FINALLY, I've collected the 1st batch of Threadless tees from Puay's house. I've 3 new tees now, brown, grey and purple. And I still have one last tee with the 3rd batch of orders. Oh boy, think I've a growing fetish to start a collection of Threadless tees (assorted colours and nice designs) even though I don't fancy tees and they don't look as good on me. By the way, dear friends, do remember to collect your Threadless tees from me in school tmr afternoon or they shall be mine. Muahaha. Alright, you know I'm kidding.
I joined my family at grandma's house for dinner and I managed to have a nice conversation with grandma. I'm really glad she had an enjoyable time at last week's shoot - acting and watching the actors. At first, I was a little worried that it would be tiring for her since they came to pick her up at 7am+ on the day of filming. I've cleared my doubts and it's good to learn that she's happy, I'm happy.
It's also YongQuan, my little cousin's birthday - the most adorable and naughty of them all. He's still irresistibly cute and I love him to bits!
Tomorrow
My plans to go swimming with Shuz has been ruined! My oh my, it's my stupid m*period again! I hate the blood. We'll still meet up for brunch before I make a trip to school. Then, it'll be an evening with Aloysius and Huiying in town. Friday is supposed to be a merry day too!

I shall be long-winded tonight. I just don't feel like sleeping.
UNPLEASANT THOUGHTS
(Please skip this post to save yourself from my ranting of angst or be offended in anyway)
I must admit, that I've been very bad spirited lately and very bitter about this whole IMDP3 right from the beginning.
#1 Being in Wah's class
Yes, she isn't gonna take us through the whole P3 period since we're having a new lecturer, Julian, but I just can't help thinking that it'd have been better being in Gail's or Jeffrey's class. I hate it whenever she interrupts the class irrelevantly or at times, she makes us feel even more helpless after any consultation with her. It's like so pointless talking to her.
#2 No good story ideas
It's frustrating that none of us can come with a solid story idea. We spent quite alot of time discussing and cracking our brains. Eventually, my group settled for "My Dad and I" (aye, so chick flick). The day of voting didn't go well either. All the 3 stories presented didn't seem good enough at all. And my group didn't want to do a too emo story but preferred a more lighthearted story. The final voting rested on an emo story that hasn't even been developed though the concept sounds interesting. To think it was a few of my group members who marked the voting difference. I meant one of them was actually late and he obviously didn't give a fair assessment since he only heard the last story and voted for it.
#3 Development of the script
It's easy to put the blame on the group who came out with this 'brilliant' idea of the '7 Days' story but it's another thing in attempting to further develop the story. We seriously had a tough time with the script. It was like getting to nowhere, but sinking into more and more loopholes and confusion. The characters development and storyline were contradicting. It was only till the very last minute, 2 days before the scheduled shoot that we managed to synchronise the script, after the meeting with our senior, Kenny Tan, who is now a freelance director. His suggestions really helped to clarify our doubts. By then, the script had been revised at least 10 times.
#4 Casting
After an entire week of casting, we still couldn't find a suitable main lead. Argh. I didn't know it was that difficult to cast a good-looking actor who can really act. Those who came for the auditions just didn't meet the mark. Those with the good looks can't act and vice versa which justifies Julian's remark of 'God is fair' as he was present in one of the casting auditions. So, we had to compromise. We even went to approach an agency, which wanted to charge us $120/day. Gosh, where are we gonna find so much money?
Thankfully, through RuiZhen's recommendation, I managed to contact one final talent desperately and secured his interest. It was really anyhow. We did an informal audition with him outside a mall at Paya Lebar after the meeting with the rest of the confirmed cast and included him on the spot.
#5 Pre-production
Everything else was still in a shambles. The location for some of the scenes were still not settled, documents were not prepared, production schedules were not fixed, etc. and obviously not everyone is playing their part. As a result, some of us had to double up while the rest remained clueless. I really wished my class had more capable people. To date, Rainer, Samson, and Roy have proven themselves to be the most worthy production crew. Of course, the rest were helpful, in one way or another.
#5 Production
4 full days and 1 half-day shoot were wrapped up with much anxiety and stress. How am I supposed to have fun? There were many angry and gloomy moments, due to a lack of sense of urgency, many of us who were inexperienced, including myself; the hiccups...falling way behind schedule and many other stuff and people, which I do not wish to mention publicly...seriously pissed me off. It's funny how Shem, our male lead, actually commented just now, that he would be extremely angry if he were in Rainer's or my position. I don't know how much of my negative emotions were manifested but anyway, I'd like to apologise for it.
I find Rainer(the director) quite scary, at times. Haha. He really gave me a shock today when he suddenly forced open the door as I was standing right behind it and questioned me about the shot. The other terrifying moments happened when I was on my way home. I would receive calls from him with an immediate, angry voice: "Where's my clapper board?" without even saying hello.
And my response: "I really don't know!"
Now that I've cleared my chest off some negativity,
I'll be blogging my more pleasant thoughts tomorrow (:
Here's 2 grp pics taken last Sat, during dinner break, which I've ripped off Gillian's blog

TwentySix Pictures is the name of my class's production company, which simply explains the full strength of my class - 26 p'ple.

Posted by Philothea` @ Sunday, August 27, 2006 | Here I am, in school, on a lovely Sunday afternoon for a not as lovely purpose - IMDP3 Production Day 5 (the last day of production, hopefully, no more reshoots). And I hope all will go well. We certainly don't want all our efforts, time, money, sweat, blood, stress (you get what I mean) to go down the drain.
Lunch break is over. Back to work.

Posted by Philothea` @ Thursday, August 24, 2006 | IMDP3 Production day 3 was fine, considering it was only about 5 hours.
I was late! The call time was 12pm and I actually woke up at 12pm. Aye, I literally jumped outta bed to wash up, followed by a headache. I wasn't sure how to get to the shooting location exactly, but somehow I managed to alight at the right bus stop.
We had only one hour for the shoot after the talent arrived and before the place is closed. So you can imagine the mad rush and I'm quite sad we didn't have time for one more nice shot (outside the window).
By the time we wrapped up, we were all starving. Ingrid suggested that we could have dinner at Bedok 85 food centre, which was about 15 minutes walk away. I went ahead in Alden's car, together with Pamela and Shem (our actor) and it turned out to be a spinning ride. We got lost, made so many turns, ended up at weird places, called Ingrid on the phone so many times just to ask for directions...when we finally found our way, the rest (Samson, Rainer, Ingrid, Prisceilia) who walked had already arrived. -.-
To make matters worse, we wasted some more time in search of a parking lot but there wasn't any available at all. Remember, we were starving! Eventually, we settled for another car park elsewhere and went for dinner at the near by coffee shop instead. So, we had our dinner and left happily...till we returned to the car to find the car parks attendants with a nicely printed note, which implies a $60 fine!
Moral of the story?
Go figure.
I should get going now. I hate studying but I ought to be studying for my driving theory now. Laters!

Posted by Philothea` @ Wednesday, August 23, 2006 | It's 2.40am.
I just returned home from IMDP3 production day 2 about an hour ago.
It seems that I should be asleep by now since I'm dead tired but I feel like ranting for a moment. I've already started doing so over my msn conversation with Wynnie. She's from Mass Communications so she can at least identify with me.
Me: Can I throw P3 aside?
Me: No.
Me: Can I give up on P3?
Me: No.
Me: Can I slack during P3?
Me: No.
Me: Can I be anymore 'broke'?
Me: Of course. There'll still be another round of funds collection and 3 more days of production expenditures.
Me: Should I be sorry for making my talent drunk on red wine?
Me: Why didn't I prepare Ribena earlier instead?
Me: Should I be angry with my talent for being an hour late?
Me: They're not paid, so I can't exactly demand much.
Me: Can I jump into the pool and never returned?
Me: Don't think I can last so long in the waters.
Me: Can someone please shoot me?
Me: ...
Me: Can I be emo?
Me: Will that solve anything?
Me: Can I pray?
Me: Certainly.
Me: Can anyone help me cope with my inadequacy, exhaustion and stress?
Me: Yes. God, please help me!
Okay, I'm NOT loving P3. I just can't wait for it to be over cos it's taking such a toll on so many of us. So much to achieve, so many hiccups, so many people (over populated; under staffed), so little time.
On a brighter note, I'm blessed with getting-to-know-my-classmates-better, picking up new skills and Gillian's friend's family who have so generously lend us their house for the past 2 days as our shooting location and cater free meals, drinks, etc for us. Seriously, that's more than we could ask for! I think she has probably spent more than $150 on our production crew! How can? We're not even related to her in anyway! We're so indebted to that family!
Okay, I need to catch some sleep,
Say good bye to my troubles, for awhile and
say hello to Production Day 3 in less than 9 hours' time.

Posted by Philothea` @ Saturday, August 19, 2006 | My youngest brother is my joy candy! <3
I really enjoy his presence and talking to him (;
Even though he's already Primary 5, he's still the baby in the family.
Poor boy, he's not even allowed to travel to anywhere on his own.
Anyway, he's my only non-irritating sibling.
It's 1.18am and I just realised it's my 2nd younger bro's bdae.
Me: Hey, happy birthday!
Bro: Wah, I'm so disappointed in you. You're not the first.
Me: Why should I be the first? Hahaha.
Bro: You're my sister, you ought to be the first. It applies for this Korean show.
Me: ...
And then he asked me for his birthday gift.
Threadless time is ceasing. Orders confirmed.
1st batch: 17 tees, 2nd batch: 15 tees
the last batch: 4 tees? (pending)
Everybody owes Puay a big sum altogether!

Posted by Philothea` @ Monday, August 14, 2006 | I wanna blog soon, especially about how I spent my National Day and stuff but I'll have to complete my COMDA and P3 script first! It's kinda frustrating that while I was at my second home, the internet is down and my work is interrupted.
Anyway, I just checked my sch email and I was amused for a moment, just a short while. I just didn't know that other lecturer would be bothered to be of some help (;

Hi Wahidah,
our class will be running our last audition on this coming Tuesday and we'd like to ask of you to help us book the TV studio as our audition venue cos previously we booked the meeting rooms at Student Development Building but it's not an ideal venue. So if possible, can you book for us the TV Studio, 1-6pm, 15 August 2006, Tuesday? Thank you very much!
Cheers,
Philothea

I'm currently busy working on a major video production. It's some kinda competition and out of the 3 classes, the best will be selected to be submitted for Arts Central's PROJECT PILOT.
Since our sch won last yr, I believe that we'll win this year again! Haha. Unless the other schools improve by leaps and bounds cos all the entries screened last year (including my own sch's winning entry) were seemingly horrible. What a disappointment and disgrace! Hoho. We're all kinda noobish; and if I may phrase it in a nicer term- we're armatures. Okay, I may not be making much sense to you. Anyway the main point is that:
Casting! Acting talents wanted!
A handsome and smart looking guy,
who looks like 22-24 years old,
medium build, tall (170cm & above).
Two pretty & daring ladies,
who look like 19-22 years old.
Will be acting as sisters.
Both emotional characters and one of them will be seductive.
If you know of anyone who fits the above criteria and would love to act, please do not hesitate to contact me at 90298379!
Filiming will take place this month, 15-25 August.
FREE meals and transport will be provided during filming.
Auditions will be held at Temasek Polytechnic, Student Development Centre Building
10 August 3.30-7.00pm
11 August 3.30-7.00pm
12 August 12.00-4.00pm
Hurry, contact me for more details! (:

The dreadful period of the month-
the every woman's affair
the usual uneasiness & exhaustion
the blood,
disgusting.
Fortunately, I don't usually suffer from m*cramps and I hope it'd be so, for the rest of my life.
And I don't know why am I ever blogging about such random, trivial matters.
I just came across this quote while doing research for my COMDA:

Speaking about the red pigment,
I've probably lost more blood than usual for the past week.
Besides the above, it accumulates from accidents and injuries inflicted on my knees, legs, mouth and can't remember where else and oh, those irritating mosquitoes bites.

Hmm, that's wonderful wishful thinking. Well, I'll never know, you'll never know, we'll never know. I still stand a chance, righhhhht? Cross your fingers and pray with me till the announcement of the final results. Hahaha.
